Background:
Whether you're a long-time user or new to ABAQUS, you shouldn't
miss our annual regional meeting. This one-day event focuses on
important developments and innovative uses of the ABAQUS product
suite. You'll have the chance to preview new capabilities, provide
feedback to ABAQUS staff and network with your engineering peers.
The social event on the evening of Nov-24 gives you the opportunity
to meet colleagues of the ABAQUS user family in a relaxed Viennese
atmosphere.

Presentations:
User technical presentations are a highlight of the meeting. If
you are interested in sharing your ABAQUS experience, please
e-mail an abstract or PowerPoint presentation for consideration to
info@abaqus.at
before Oct-15, 2003. Presentations should describe novel
applications of ABAQUS to important and challenging design
problems. We have limited time slots available for speakers, so we
recommend you submit proposals early. We will waive the conference
registration fee for speakers. |

New ABAQUS Release:
The meeting will also preview ABAQUS Version 6.4, which will ship
this autumn. Version 6.4 is a major release with scores of new
features. Joop Nagtegaal from ABAQUS, Inc. USA will be in Vienna
to answer your questions concerning new capabilities of ABAQUS.

“Contact in ABAQUS/Standard
V6.4”*
Understanding the interaction between bodies is essential for
solving many engineering problems. Manufacturing processes, gears, bearings,
seals, and dynamic impact events all involve contact. Engineers at ABAQUS
have developed many techniques and guidelines for solving challenging contact
problems. Participants are given an overview of the contact formulation and
contact logic used in ABAQUS/Standard in general as well as
a summary of new developments in V6.4. The seminar also informs
about the new diagnostic visualization functionality in connection with contact
analysis incorporated in ABAQUS/CAE V6.4.
The seminar is suitable for experienced
ABAQUS users familiar with the basics of contact simulation (download
seminar details).
